I wrote this book for everyone. And in particular for the today’s young generation,
disoriented and confused, looking for a way.
I would like that the young generation regains the confidence on her and makes her
own pioneer spirit.
That she expects nothing from the welfare state, not huddles herself in the easy
security, but that she dares going out to conquer the world, backpack on the shoulders,
relying first on herself without fear of unexpected things.
That she prefers the little personal comfort, the exciting adventure of the life
shared with others, all others.
That she does nothing to fear the globalization, but on the contrary, equipped by
the solid values, she takes it as a chance.
That she escapes from the threatened uniformism and immobilism to stay free, to
confirm her personality and even her originality, and to confront the necessary
challenge or risks.
That she would be generous, open, collective, responsible, but also courageous,
daring and demanding.
That she regains this ability to get enthusiastic, to marvel herself and to commit
for the superior causes.
That she sees far and wide, without fear of the future.
That she finally grasps of optimism, which is not a state of mind changing with
the vicissitudes of life, but a continual willpower to influence on the life itself.
That, in short, she is constantly young with this ambition of conquests and ideal.
This book offers a path from my own experience.
The young man that I was, arriving alone and penniless in France, jumped into this
human adventure without any other support but his own conviction.
Thirty-five years and some crisis later, our world that is turned upside down but
that becomes a global village opens paradoxically to every young person today, even
to the responsible person who lies dormant in each of us, much more opportunities
to undertake this exciting journey, going to his own limit.
The dozing European and “developed” societies, regenerated by the emergence of these
new personalities, will recover the pioneer spirit, the willingness of new collective
conquests, and restart.
