MESSAGE IN LINK WITH THE CURRENT EVOLUTION

The message of the book is at the high of burning issues, in the light of starting revolution in Tunisia, Egypt and Libya.

The book « Relaunch France and Europe – the voluntary democracy » is written by Phu Tran Van before the revolutions in Tunisia, Egypt and Libya. These major and historic revolutions whose dynamics will inevitably spread out, confirm afterwards the pertinence and the scope of the message delivered through this book.

Indeed, in this book, Phu Tran Van offers a way-out – the Voluntary Democracy – by the effective commitment of the civil society: “the society in France, Europe and even beyond our borders, is mature and ready to welcome many new leaders coming from the civil society who are free to improve the current system (toward a system of values) because the current one is not issued from them”, page 73.

« The new leaders are credible for their capability of being heard and followed, for they represent the core values personally. This exemplarity is the key factor for the renewal: the new voluntary democracy will be at first an exemplary democracy”, page 74-75.

The very-demanding way is clear: the exemplarity of leadership gives breath to the embodied values that mobilize the collective commitment – the collective sense to relaunch our societies.

In this book, Phu Tran Van emphasized on the urgency for this major reorientation, “without which the machine may be seized up and the social revolt is not far” – page 69.

The on-going revolution in Tunisia, Egypt and Libya confirms this prediction, insofar as it is a social revolt launched by the civil society and the young people, hungry for democracy and freedom, which come to reject the clan or even dictatorial leadership – the dictatorship for the benefice of a clan in power – installed too long in their countries. We can draw the parallel between these castes and the “auto-renewed establishment” that Phu Tran Van mentions in his book, which still governs today many of our societies – page 214.

It becomes therefore urgent, in our developed societies, especially in France and Europe, that we have the courage to launch without delay “a profound evolution of political leadership, with the entry of the civil society in the joint-responsibility”, pages 209-73-74. This is to avoid social explosions with unpredictable consequences.

And this is where we will have to note, with foresight, that a promising new and positive page of the history is certainly taking place under our eyes, through the starting revolution in Tunisia, Egypt and Libya, but it is just the beginning of a historic transition, of a new adventure that remains to be written about. This adventure will require high and long lasting endeavours and courage.

This is the demanding way explained in the book by Tran Van Phu, the key points of which were reminded, corresponding to his personal conviction based on his own life. It is an extremely-difficult-but-possible way : The exemplarity (to be regenerated by the values) of leadership: Chapter 5 part 2 --> Incarnation, transmission and application of values: Chapter 3 part 2 -->To develop the collective commitment prevailing over the individualism, the courage for duty prevailing over the conquest of personal or category-specific rights: Chapter 2 part 2.

Failing to commit with perseverance to this way, this revolution for a democracy and freedom in Tunisia, Egypt and Libya (or this desired mutation from inside of our societies) may go to another deadlock because it will be usurped by a new caste that replaces the previous one.
